The Invention
A seat that understands the person sitting in it
Long hours in one position compress tissue and tire the body, whether the seat is in a car, a truck cab, an aircraft cabin, an office, or a wheelchair. Healthy Motion Seating® answers that with movement. It commands the motors and bladders a seat already has to make small, slow position changes an occupant barely notices, so body weight shifts and tissue gets a chance to recover. No extra hardware, no added weight.
The five new applications take that platform further. Artificial intelligence makes the motion personal, tuning it to the individual occupant and the conditions of the moment instead of running one fixed routine for everyone. Route and vehicle context let the seat act early, before the stretches of a trip where alertness typically fades. Pooled seat data turns a fleet's experience into insight for the operators who run it and the manufacturers who build it. Downloadable software brings all of this to vehicles already on the road. And the same approach reaches beyond the vehicle entirely, into the chairs where people work, heal, and get around.

Why This Matters
Fatigue is a safety problem. Sitting still is a health problem.
The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety estimates that 17.6 percent of all fatal U.S. crashes from 2017 to 2021 involved a drowsy driver. Regulators now require new vehicles in Europe to detect a drowsy driver and issue a warning. Detection tells you there is a problem. Motion does something about it.
